Description
De Tomaso’s new P72 supercar is ready to go, with the production model ready after nearly 6 years since the concept was revealed. This is of course the first car De Tomaso has launched since its revival in 2019 after nearly a decade in dormancy.
Built around a carbon-fiber chassis that was used in the Apollo Intense Emozione, the P72 features carbon-fiber bodywork with plenty of sweeping lines and surfaces. The overall look conjures up images of endurance racers from the 1960’s whilst still looking modern enough for the 2020’s.
Powered by a 5.0L V8 Ford Coyote engine tuned by Roush and fitted with a supercharger, the P72 produces 700 hp and 604 lb-ft of torque. It also uses a six-speed manual gearbox with short gear ratios, pushrod suspension and three-way manually adjustable dampers.
